Mini PONY DAYS & One Day Camps - lead rein/ Beginner/tots
**One day Pony Camps**
A day at the yard where children may be involved in catching ponies in from the fields, grooming, tacking up, feeding, stable work and games/stable manegment training or quizzes with a one hour ride included. Please bring drinks and a packed lunch (No nuts please).
***Riders must have a parent/guardian with them to lead for the ridden section after lunch if they are normally led ***

Three hour sessions that include a one-hour ride and participation in practical or theoretical pony grooming/care/quiz or games.

These days are for children riding off the lead rein in trot. If you are not a regular rider please book an assessment lesson to check your childs ability.

childrens holiday hacks
Fancy a holiday treat? Come and join us at Fletchers Farm for a private 30 minute lead rein hack around the farm for 4 year olds and upwards. Parents must be available to lead their children.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES & Treats
Come and enjoy your birthday at Fletchers Farm Riding School. We offer two options for groups of children aged 3 years old and upwards, and then private or shared seperate packages. Please read below for further details.

For children aged 3 – 8 years old
Meet two of our lovely ponies
There will be a short meet and greet with fitting of hats & boots.
The group will spend time with one of our ponies grooming and decorating with plaits/ribbons whilst children have an individual short pony ride around our arena at the same time. A parent will be required to walk alongside their child as staff lead around. This section will take an hour.
There is then the option to use our portacabin for a 30-minute slot afterwards if you would like to bring a cake or snacks for your children.
Please note the rides are outside whether there is rain or shine so please come prepared!
The price includes hat/boot use for each child, a rosette and pony activity sheets to take away. Maximum of 8 children.

Party 2:
For children aged 8 years old and upwards who are established riders, riding off the lead rein in trot
There will be a short meet and greet with fitting of hats/boots, followed by approximately 20 minutes of grooming & pampering time. The children will then have a half an hour ride in an arena suited to their ability level.
There is then the option to use our portacabin for a 30-minute slot afterwards if you would like to bring a cake or snacks for your children.
The price includes hat/boot use for each child and a rosette. Maximum of 6 children. Riders must be within our current weight limit of 12 stone maximum.

This one- hour option will consist of a short introduction and fitting of hat & boots, and then a 20-minute session on grooming, followed by a 30-minute ridden section.
Price includes hat/boot use, a pair of riding gloves and a rosette.

Terms and conditions:
- Payment must be made at time of booking your date in with staff to secure the booking. Once booked group party options are non-refundable. If you need to move the date of your party, we require at least one weeks notice ahead of the date you have booked for.
- For the private or shared birthday treat options, our normal lesson cancellation policy applies (48 hours notice).
- All ridden sessions include mounting/dismounting time.
- Parties are subject to availability - please speak to our office to check on provisional dates before sending out your invites to avoid disappointment.
- All children must be supervised by their parents/guardians at all times whilst on the site.
- Any children/riders attending must have a completed rider registration form signed by their parents/legal guardians. These can be downloaded ahead of time from our website and or completed on the day, but please allow time to do this prior to your party time (if completing on the day) so that the party can start promptly. No child can ride without one of these forms.
General Information:
In order to have a fun but safe time with us, please can all parents/children follow any Health and Safety requests from the staff on the day and ensure the below:
Please do not allow your child to walk around the back of the ponies or stand directly behind.
Ponies like to be approached quietly and from the side, please can parents monitor their children to approach our ponies in this way.
As we are a working riding school and livery yard, we would politely ask that noise on the yard and in the portacabin must be kept to a minimum so that lessons in the arenas are not disturbed.
Please do not let the children feed any treats whilst here as unfortunately this can lead to ponies biting.
No helium/inflated balloons on site please.

obstacle courses
A fun session testing your skills with various obstacles ridden and unmounted in our outdoor arena.

12.00-13.00 Beginners walk group - lesson format no timed section
Any riders booking this must have had a lesson here prior to the event.
Obstacles such as weaving in and out of cones, posting letters in boxes, limboing under low poles, leading your pony round or through hazards and many more.
A fun activity for all the family and any abilities. After training and practice riders will be timed around the course with rosettes to the winner.

For the competition the following rules apply:
The winner is the quickest time round the course - this time is inclusive of any time penalties added on.
Penalties
10 seconds will be added to your time if you do not fully complete an obstacle, e.g. miss out cone when doing a line of weaving in and out.
10 seconds will be added if you break into a faster pace than is above the class speed set, e.g. cantering within a trot class.
30 seconds will be added if you miss out/not attempt an obstacle at all.
The competition round will have a time limit of:
- 3 minutes
If you have not completed the course within the time allocated then the last obstacle you completed will count. Your total score will comprise of the allocated time e.g. 3 minutes plus any time penalties you have gained, plus 30 seconds for each obstacle that you did not attempt. The winner will be whoever has reached the furthest in the course with least time penalties when they are added onto the time.

Unicorn Sessions for children
Come and meet the ponies, try your hand at grooming and have a short ride.
Lasts for approx one hour, hat and boots included but please bring gloves for riders and leaders (an adult must come who is willing to lead).
A great introduction to ponies for children aged 4 years old and upwards.

Introduction to jumping courses
Interested in progressing your jumping to riding courses?
Two hour session with theory about how to ride lines and approach fences in a course setting, followed by a one-hour group session practicing these skills.
Ideal for Novice/intermediate group riders
Suitable for children aged 7 years and upwards.

Childrens Taster rides / Holiday rides
Tots' Rides – For children aged 4 years plus to give them a taster for ponies.
These sessions are pony ride of approx 15 mins - a great introduction for children to ponies and horse riding.
The ride follows tracks around the paddocks but maybe transferred to an arena depending on ground conditions.
For all children aged 4 years old and upwards.
Parents/guardians will be required to lead - one adult per child attending.
Riders and leaders must have their own clean gloves with them and hats must be booked at the time of booking - please call us for details of how to measure heads.
Saturdays and Sundays at 14.30
