Friday 1st November – Tots and Lead Rein Pumpkin, Crafting and Cake ride 

Join us for a lead rein hack around the farmland, followed by a Halloween themed craft session. Cake and squash provided for each child. Parents/guardians are required to lead. Suitable for 3 years old and upwards. Please note if your child is 3 years old, 2 adults will be required. Please allow at least an hour for the activity.

Sunday 17th November - Kristina Biggs Jumping Clinic 

Come and work on your jumping skills with Kristina who is an experienced show jumping Instructor. Kristina has successfully competed in affiliated show jumping competitions as well as cross country events and will use her knowledge to help you work towards your goals. 
She will be offering 45 minute private sessions to clients in our outdoor arena, or alternatively can offer shared sessions if you prefer. 
 
Between 11-2pm

Saturday 14th December – Unaffiliated Novice Xmas SJ Show 

A fun, encouraging show aimed at novice riders. 
Starts 09:30hrs 
 
Class 1 Raised poles class – One round against the clock. Riders on the lead rein welcome. *Small Christmas treat for all clear rounds* 
 
Class 2 30cm (1ft approx) Cross Poles – One round against the clock. 
Riders on the lead rein welcome. 
 
Class 3 40-45cm (1ft.4in-1ft6 approx) – One round against the clock. 
No lead rein allowed but an assistant allowed in the ring. 
 
Class 4 Dog and Dobbin – 45-50cm (1ft.6in-1ft.9 approx) - Rider jumps round a course of jumps, then dog and handler have to jump the same course. Fastest, clear pair wins. 
 
Class 5 50cm-60cm (1ft.9in-2ft approx) – Two phase. 
 
Class 6 Novice Christmas Cracker Pairs – 60cm-65cm (2ft.-2ft.3 approx) – First rider jumps round a course of jumps, passes baton to second rider to then jump round same course. Fastest, clear pair wins. 
** A minimum of four pairs required for this class to run** 
 
Class 7 75cm-80cm (2ft6 approx) – Two phase. 
 
Class 8 Holly High Jump – starting at 90cm – There will be two fences for this competition. One spread which will remain at 90cm, the other, an upright, will be raised in each round. Riders must clear both fences in each round in order to continue and whoever clears the highest fence round is the winner. 
 
Classes 5, 7 are two phase (if clear round jumped, jump off will follow immediately). 
 
Rosettes 1st to 4th place, more if entries warrant. 
 
Entries 
 
Riding school clients must pre-book by noon on Wednesday 12th December using an entry form. Fletchers Farm Livery Members/External riders can enter on the day. 
 
Classes 1, 2,3,4,5,7,8 - £8 FFRS Liveries/External riders, £20 Loyalty Scheme Riding School Clients (includes Horse Hire) £23 Non-Member Riding School Client (includes horse hire)

Parking is available on the hardcore area opposite the main entrance to the farm. Warm up indoors and classes in our large outdoor arena. 
 
Show Jumping Rules 
 
The course will be made of a mixture of poly/schooling jumps. 
No entry will be accepted without the appropriate fee. 
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry, vary the order or composition of, or cancel any event in this schedule at any time. 
In the event of the show being cancelled due to weather or similar, messages will be left on the number provided on your entry form and on our facebook page. 
Classes may be split or amalgamated at the organisers' discretion. 
All course heights are approximate. 
Correct riding dress should be worn and hat with a fixed harness to a minimum standard of PAS 015 must be worn by riders at all times. 
 
Judged under BS Rules, however the Judges' decision is final. 
 
The organisers have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructors or the organiser, officials and stewards. 
 
If this is your first show competing please note that we allow assistance or leading in the classes indicated on the schedule page. Please remember horses can behave differently in the ring to normal lessons or schooling at home and if you would like assistance please ask. Competitors enter classes at their own risk. 
 
These shows are designed to be encouraging. Please choose appropriate classes for your experience and we would politely ask that you move up classes if you have won a number at a particular level. 
 
Please use designated warm up area only. Do not stand on the track where others are riding and cause an obstruction. Please ride responsibly and observe manage etiquette. 
Please do not re-enter the warm up arena once you have finished your jumping round. 
No lunging allowed on the show ground. 
All lorries and horse trailers to be parked in designated area. Please tidy hay, droppings and mess from the parking area before leaving. Parking can be restricted if the show is busy so please park close to the next horsebox or as directed by a show steward. 
 
Please ensure that dogs are kept on a lead at all times. 
 
Photographs of class winners / placed riders may be printed / placed onto various media including the FF website, Essex Rider, the FF Facebook page. If you do not wish this to happen you must notify us in writing.

Sat 21st Dec – Christmas Hack  

Come and join us on a festive hack and get in the mood for Christmas! 
 
An escorted group ride of one and a half hours followed by a coffee/hot chocolate and mince pies.

Friday 3rd January – Pony Day 

A fun filled day with a chance for the children to get hands on experience with our ponies. They will be able to groom and spend time with the ponies and participate in practical or theoretical stable management as well as games competitions. Includes a one hour riding lesson on a pony of your choice (subject to suitability). Open to all ages and abilities. Please bring your own packed lunch, drink and weather appropriate clothing. 
Time: 10.00 – 15.00hrs

A six-week course covering the content required to take your Stage 1 Care exam. Ideal preparation for the exam or an opportunity to learn more about general horse care as the syllabus covers horse’s health, grooming, rugs and mucking out as well as other areas.  The sessions will run on Saturday mornings and involve practical and theoretical content.  4th January – 8th February 2020  Time: 09.30-12.00  Cost: £168 for the course Individual sessions can be booked at a rate of £30 a session however we recommend that you attend the whole course in order to cover all the content.

 09.00-12.15 Tuesday to Thursdays during the holiday  Each morning consists of Pony/Horse care, a lecture and a one-hour group ride  18th – 20th February – Teen (ages 12-18 years old)  A great way to meet other riders and gain more hands-on experience with our horses.  Cost: Single Days: £35 - Loyalty Scheme Members £38 - Non-members  Book a full week (Tues-Thurs): £95 - Loyalty Scheme Members per week £104 - Non-members per week  To participate, riders in the Teen groups must be able to canter and have jumped small cross poles (Our Novice level lessons). We require a minimum of four participants to run the sessions. The pony care will include catching ponies in from the field, grooming, tacking/untacking and other horse care, followed by a lecture or practical session then a one hour group ride. Places limited to six riders each day. Once booked this event is non-refundable, however a waiting list will be in operation and if we can refill your space we will refund you.  Please note the office will confirm your booking.

Entries from competitors online who then have paid over the telephone or by Bacs are taken on the understanding of all parties that the competitor /and parents (if under 18 years old) have read, understood and agreed to abide by the show rules. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry, vary the order or composition of, or cancel any event in this schedule at any time.

Monday 13th April - Easter Halloween Le Trec Obstacles & Competition 

Riding in groups in the outdoor arena, practice a range of obstacles and challenges with your horse and instructor. Each group will then have a fun timed competition against the other riders in their group to see who can complete the course in quickest time. Rosettes for placings in each group. 
 
Times to be confirmed from 10.00hrs 
Sessions will run for approx one hour (depending on numbers in each group)

Sunday 26th April – Unaffiliated Novice SJ Show 

Fun & encouraging shows aimed at novice/nervous riders 
 
Starts 09:30hrs 
 
Class 1 Raised Poles – One round against the clock. 
Riders on/off the lead rein. 
 
Class 2 Tiny cross poles – Middle of the fence 20cm or below. One round against the clock. 
Riders on/off the lead rein. 
 
Class 3 35cm-40cm – One round against the clock. 
Assistance allowed in the ring but no lead rein. 
 
Class 4 45-50cm – Two Phase 
 
Class 5 55-60cm – Two phase 
 
Class 6 75-80cm – Two phase 
 
Lead rein allowed in classes 1 & 2. 
Assistance allowed in class 3 (for example to remind direction of fences, verbal reminders etc). 
Classes 4,5 and 6 are two phase (if clear round jumped, jump off will follow immediately). As this is a novice show, we respectfully ask that competitors ensure that they are entering the most appropriate classes for their experience levels, thank you. 
The course will be made of a mixture of poly/training jumps. 
 
Rosettes 1st to 6th place. 
Special rosette to highest placed Riding School client in each class. 
 
**Vaccinations update - Please note that we highly recommend your horse is vaccinated within the last 6 months but it must be yearly. Spot checks on passports will be carried out on the day. Please ensure you have your horses passport with you, thank you for your co-operation.**

The BHS EHKC is the perfect introduction to equine care and management, and is an informative and interesting course for those wishing to learn more about horse care. It is ideal for non-horsey parents, first time horse owners/carers or those planning their first horse purchase or loan and anyone wishing to expand their knowledge. Level 1 takes the knowledge further and includes discussing purchasing a horse - what to look for and the vetting process. There is a written paper in the last week of the course.  The course will run for four consecutive Sundays  Starts: Sunday 3rd May - 24th May 2020 Time: 14.00-17.00 Cost: £95
