Pony Club

FFRS is an approved Pony Club Centre and offers non-ridden, fortnightly fun sessions that cover pony care and the chance to earn badges – like a Brownie group but about ponies!  Any child can join the groups – if they have previous pony care experience join the Pony Club Ponies group, or if your child is new at horse riding but want to learn more, try the Pony Club Foals group.  Sessions cover a wide range of practical hands on activities such as grooming, as well as learning about saddlery, health, field & stable care plus games and quizzes. These sessions will compliment children’s riding lessons and give them more of an all-round understanding of the sport and pony care.   Pony Club Ponies – fortnightly 13.30-15.00 - Saturdays from 31st October   Pony Club Foals – fortnightly 13.30-15.00 - Saturdays from 7th November   Cost: All sessions are £15.00   If you are interested in your child attending a session please contact the office for a booking form, this will need to be filled in and returned to the office prior to booking.   T&C - Sessions must be booked prior to the day with payment over the telephone. Sessions are non-refundable and cannot be moved forward to another date once booked. Spaces will be limited each week so please book early to avoid disappointment.   Covid & session requirements:  All children attending must bring their own clean gloves to wear. Please ensure these are brought with them otherwise they will not be able to groom or handle stable equipment etc and will only be able to watch in that session.  Riding hats and boots will be required for any contact with the ponies, if your child does not have an up to standard riding hat these can be booked ahead of the day for use at £3 – we can not do this on the day. If your child does not have a hat with them or have one prebooked they will only be able to watch these parts of that session.  If your child shows any coronavirus symptoms on the day please do not attend the site but leave a message on 01206 242210 to let staff know not to expect them.  Children will be reminded to social distance at all times, if there is a problem with following our guidelines on site we will contact you to discuss how to improve this.  Please pack your child any drinks/snacks they may require as well as hand sanitiser and a pen/pencil.  Please pack weather appropriate clothing - we run an outdoor sport and are quite likely to be getting wet and muddy at times.  Children will meet on the grass outside the large outdoor arena and be collected from the same area. Only one adult is allowed on site for drop off and collection, all other people must stay in the car.  Completion of this form is not a guarantee of a space each week - spaces must be booked individually each fortnight and are limited.  Please note the office will confirm your booking.
